Operating System
As the PTV xServer test environment runs on the following operating systems, we recommend to use one of them:
- Ubuntu Server Edition 20.04 LTS, 64-bit
- Windows Server 2019, 64-bit
To run PTV xServer on other Linux distributions consider running it with Docker. PTV xServer requires at least glibc 2.31 and libstdc++ 3.4.28, but it cannot be guaranteed that PTV xServer runs on Linux distributions other than the above mentioned one.
Java Installation
As the required Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is not integrated in the PTV xServer, it has to be installed separately. A 64-bit Java 17 installation has to be provided. Depending on the policy of your company, we recommend the following two distributions:
- Amazon Corretto: No-cost distribution of OpenJDK with long-term support
- Oracle Java: Proven distribution of Java with free public updates until September 2024. From then on commercial users need to purchase a license for long-term support directly from Oracle.
Supported Browsers
For the dashboard we recommend using modern browsers such as Chrome, Firefox or Edge. Please note that Internet Explorer is not able to show the dynamic sections of the dashboard correctly (in particular Administration, Showcases and Integration Samples).
